BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at a beloved deli spot in Bethlehem.
Officials say that at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, township fire companies were dispatched to Heights Market for an automatic fire alarm.
Heavy smoke was observed by the fire companies once they arrived on scene.
The fire companies found the source of the fire, which was in the basement of the building, according to Nancy Run Fire Company.
The fire was brought under control around 3:00 p.m. by on-scene personnel, officials said.
Officials say that one employee was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation and chest pain.
Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company say they are thankful that there were no serious injuries from Thursday’s fire.
