This weekend will be one filled with music, food, community and local history in Haddon Township.

The New Jersey neighborhood’s annual Summer of Love 60’s-70’s-80’s Music Festival is set for Saturday, Aug. 29, and all the outdoor fun is just a short drive or PATCO ride away from the city.

From 2 to 10 p.m., Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge Avenue and Cooper Street will come alive with the sounds of the three decades, featuring five live bands throughout the day.

The festival’s music lineup will kick off with Invasion 65 from 2 to 3:15 p.m., followed by Dancin Machine from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Priceless will take the stage from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with Boy Band Project keeping the energy going from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. B Street Band will close out the evening with a final performance from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

The Festival will also feature food trucks, a beer garden and different activities like A Kids Zone, Dance Dome, inflatables and other attractions for all ages.

“Summer of Love is one of those events that really captures the energy of Haddon Township,” says Mayor Randall Teague. “It brings generations together through music while giving residents and visitors a chance to experience our downtown, support local businesses and enjoy a full day together as a community. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Haddon Avenue for another memorable celebration.”

The weekend’s festivities also include the grand opening of Del Buono’s Pastry Shop’s newest location. The celebration officially begins the day before on Friday, Aug. 28, at noon with a ribbon-cutting and VIP event featuring executive pastry chef Al DiBartolo.

For DiBartolo, the new location also represents a homecoming: The executive pastry chef and winner of numerous Food Network competitions operated DiBartolo Bakery in Collingswood for more than 50 years before closing in 2023.

The bakery’s opening festivities continue on Saturday. Throughout the day and into the festival, the pastry shop will offer free cream donuts, giveaways, T-shirts, a special Grand Opening promotion and other surprises.
