OBITUARY
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Arnold Marianelli, on Monday, August 17th, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
He was the beloved husband of Judi (Dolan) Marianelli, who preceded him in death on July 15, 2000.
Born on March 5, 1940, he was the loving son of the late Arnold and Mary (Skapyak) Marianelli. He graduated from Old Forge High School, was employed at Potlatch Paper Mill, Ransom, and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Old Forge.
Arnold found great joy in family vacations to Ocean City, Maryland. He loved visiting the beaches of Atlantic City, N.J., and New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
It was his two grandchildren, Michael and Lexi, whom he considered his world. They were undoubtedly his greatest joy.
He is survived by his heartbroken family, including his daughters, Lynn DiGregorio and husband Mike and Sharon Marianelli, all of Old Forge; his grandchildren, Michael DiGregorio and girlfriend Julia Iacavazzi and Alexis DiGregorio and fianc Brenden Mozeleski; his brother, Robert Marianelli and wife Dorothy of Old Forge; his sister-in-law, Diane Magistro and husband Joseph of Avoca; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Esther Brown, Margie Jopling and Jean Eskovitz.
His greatest joy was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He will be remembered for the love, strength, kindness and memories he gave to each of us. His presence will forever remain in our hearts.
A special thank you must be made to Arnold’s niece, Kelly Magistro, for her support and compassion over the last three years. It meant so much to our family during this difficult journey.
A celebration of Arnold’s life will begin with a Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St. in Scranton, on Saturday at 10:00 AM to be celebrated by Rev. Paul McDonnell, Pastor. Burial with military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until Mass. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
