WGAL’s ‘Football Friday’ tradition
WGAL’s high school football coverage has been a fall tradition in the Susquehanna Valley for more than three decades.
The station launched “Football Friday” in the mid-1990s, introducing a fast-paced showcase that went beyond scores and highlights to celebrate the full Friday-night experience—including players, coaches, fans, marching bands and cheerleaders.
Today, “Football Friday” continues to chronicle the season from opening night through district and state playoffs, delivering scores, game highlights, postgame interviews and viewer-voted plays of the week from communities across South-Central Pennsylvania.
