SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police have taken a man into custody in connection to an hours long standoff that took place Thursday afternoon outside a home in Lackawanna County.
Just before 6:00 p.m, Scranton Police say Harold Gonzalez, 54, barricaded himself inside his home at 1127 Luzerne St in West Scranton after police attempted to take him into custody. Gonzalez had a prior warrant for his arrest for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and violating state parole, according to the report.

Scranton PD also reported that Gonzalez was armed during the standoff and Scranton Police had to force their way into the home with the help of Lackawanna County SWAT. Gonzalez has since been successfully take into custody and the incident has been resolved.
Scranton Police says anyone with questions should contact the U.S Marshal service for more information regarding the incident.
