It was a busy and jam-packed campaign headquarters on Tuesday night for Christine Rush, as supporters came together to congratulate the newly elected judge.

With her win, Rush will become the black judge in Erie County’s history, an accomplishment that community members described as inspiring.

Even with a career dedicated to service, Rush thanked those closest to her, who encouraged her to run the race that she now has won.

Rush received over 1,400 votes and will take over current Erie 1st Ward District Judge Sue Mack, who is retiring, after officially being sworn in in January 2026.
