The former principal of an Allentown school, who resigned suddenly at the beginning of the school year, has taken another job at a district nearby.
Spencer Cameron is now the assistant principal of Southern Lehigh Middle School. The Southern Lehigh school board welcomed him back to the district earlier this week.
Cameron resigned as Allentown’s Harrison-Morton Middle School principal on the first day of school. The Allentown School District announced his sudden departure in a letter sent out to parents Monday. The district had said Cameron was pursuing “an opportunity that will allow him to return to his home community.”

Harrison Morton’s new acting principle is Frank Derrick. Derrick has served as both a middle and high school principal in the district.
