UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin natural gas main replacement upgrades in Pittston on Tuesday.
The project is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering safe and reliable service. This project also presents an opportunity for eligible residents and businesses in the area to convert to natural gas service.
Work is anticipated to be completed by late November and will affect the following streets:
• Kennedy Boulevard between Water and Dock streets.
• Dock Street between Kennedy Boulevard and Wharf Street.
• Drummond Street between Lambert Street and Ward Alley.
• Haston Street between Drummond and Parsonage streets.
• Reynolds Street between Parsonage and Griffith streets.
• Parsonage Street between Reynolds and Center streets.
• Center Street between Parsonage and Griffith streets.
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Drivers should anticipate lane and parking restrictions in the affected areas. Construction is expected to cause short traffic delays near the Martin Mattei Middle School.
UGI natural gas customers along the route will experience brief service interruptions, and UGI crews will require access to properties to inspect and relight gas equipment.
Weather and working conditions may affect the completion date. Final paving and restoration will occur once underground work has been completed.
