Former Ritz manager admits to theft in Lackawanna County

James Olecki admitted to stealing from the Ritz and entered an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, according to the Lackawanna County D.A.’s Office.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A former manager of the Ritz Theater in Scranton has admitted to embezzling money from the business.

Last year, James Olecki was charged after stealing nearly $75,000 from the Ritz.

District Attorney Brian Gallagher said Olecki admitted in court to stealing the money and entered an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, or ARD, program.

Entering the ARD program means Olecki will not face jail time or a criminal record.

In a statement posted on social media, Olecki says in part he “did not steal from The Ritz Theater and my decision to accept ARD does not change that.”
