ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Children’s favorite teddy bears were in some good hands earlier Saturday morning.
It was all part of the “Teddy Bear Hospital Experience” at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, part of Jefferson Health.
Kids ranging from two to nine years old got to take their favorite stuffed animal through a hospital visit to help educate and ease the anxiety around medical care.
The hands-on experience covered everything from medication safety and handwashing, blood work, and even an MRI scan.
“We want them to feel comfortable with us, so we want them to know that we’re here to make them better… and that we’re here to partner with their parents in that journey,” Anna Folk, manager of the Inpatient Pediatric Unit, LV Reilly Children’s Hospital.
Families also had the chance to tour inside a Med-Evac ambulance.
Over 170 kids came out for the experience.
