One motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured in a collision Saturday evening in Lower Mount Bethel Township.
Chad Hess, 46, of Bangor was southbound on Route 611, which is North Delaware Drive in the township, when he lost control of his motorcycle and crossed into the northbound lane near Ott Drive, according to state police. He hit a northbound motorcycle driven by John T. Gurski, 50, of Bangor.
Hess was declared dead by the Northampton County coroner’s office at the scene of the crash, state police said. Gurski was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Anderson Campus with serious injuries.
State police at Belfast are investigating. In addition to state police and the coroner’s office, Lower Mount Bethel Fire Company, Fork Township Fire Department, Suburban EMS and Reagle Dodge assisted at the scene.
