Wildlife rescuers in Pennsylvania had quite a character on their hands when a cottontail rabbit arrived at Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation.The organization shared the video on Instagram, introducing the animal as Patient 26-435 — better known around the clinic as “The Monty Python Rabbit.”And he certainly lived up to the nickname.According to Acorn Acres, the little rabbit made it his mission to fight back whenever volunteers tried to help him.”He didn’t just kick. He bit, he growled,” the organization wrote, adding that if there was a chance to attack a hand trying to help him, “he took it.”But all that attitude was actually a good sign.”A feisty rabbit is a healthy rabbit,” Acorn Acres explained.The goal of wildlife rehabilitation is to prepare animals to return to their natural environment, not to make them comfortable around people. Acorn Acres specializes in rehabilitating native wildlife, including cottontail rabbits, with the goal of safely releasing them back into the wild.After recovering, Patient 26-435 finally got his freedom.”Today, our tiny Killer Rabbit has gone home where he belongs,” the organization wrote.”Godspeed, you angry little fluffball.
