The Binghamton Rumble Ponies were swept in a doubleheader by the Reading Fightin Phils Saturday evening in Reading, PA.
Reading claimed game one with a 5-3 victory. The Fightin Phils scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to stage a comeback victory in the seven-inning game.
Binghamton dropped game two of the DH with a 3-0 shutout loss.
The Rumble Ponies are now 5.5 games back of Reading for first place in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division second-half standings. Reading is currently in control of the division’s second-half playoff spot. Binghamton has 13 games remaining on its schedule.
The teams will wrap up their series Sunday at 5:15 p.m.
