A 48-year-old man was killed Saturday night after his electric bicycle was hit by an SUV in Springfield Township.
Pennsylvania State Police in Girard responded to the crash around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Ridge Road and Steinberg Road.
According to police, a Hyundai was traveling east on West Ridge Road when it hit a man on an E-bike, who was traveling diagonally southeast.
The driver of the Hyundai SUV was not injured.
The bicyclist, identified as 48-year-old Peter A. Grzywinski of West Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the driver didn’t see the bicyclist crossing the road before the crash.
Springfield Fire Department, West County Ambulance and Pennsylvania State Police assisted at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
