DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police will conduct DUI checkpoints and roving patrols across Lackawanna County during Labor Day weekend.
Troopers from PSP Dunmore said the enforcement effort will run from Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7.
According to state police, checkpoints and patrols will target highways in Lackawanna County that have experienced high numbers of DUI-related traffic violations and crashes.
Police did not identify the specific roads or locations where checkpoints will be conducted.
State police said the increased enforcement is intended to protect motorists from impaired drivers during the holiday weekend.
Pennsylvania’s legal blood-alcohol concentration limit for most drivers is 0.08%.
Troopers are urging anyone who plans to drink during the holiday weekend to arrange for a sober driver rather than get behind the wheel.
