The City of Erie is taking a week to celebrate all cultures that make up Erie.
Welcoming Week will take place from September 10 through 19; it’s hosted by Erie’s New American Communities.
EDDC gives preview of upcoming September events
The administration released a full schedule of events to connect the community with tours, panel discussions and social events.
One city representative said this is a way to show appreciation to a community who have welcomed new Americans to the area.
141st Erie County Fair kicks off in Wattsburg
“What better way to showcase our shared culture, our shared stories, history, we all have different stories of how we came to the us and how we made the us and Erie, specifically, our home,” said Wuji Ahmad, the New American Affairs coordinator for the City of Erie.
