Summer may be winding down, but there are still plenty of events to look forward to in Erie throughout September.
The Erie Arts & Culture has announced a full lineup of events happening across the city over the next several weeks. The month kicks off with the final Boutique Night of the season and the Trash Alley Party this weekend, followed by the Labor Day Parade on Monday at 10:00 a.m. and the Renaissance Festival at Frontier Park on Sunday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m..
Fiesta on the Square will take place the following week on September 12th from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
New this year, Welcoming Week and the New American Jamboree will run from September 10 through 19. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is also scheduled for September 19 in Perry Square at 10:30 a.m.
The Erie Irish Festival will take place that same weekend.
Porch Fest and the Snap-Tite Firefighters Challenge will help wrap up the month. The Firefighters Challenge will take place on from September 23-26. Porch Fest is September 25th from 12:00 until 6:00.
Organizers said there is no shortage of ways for people to get out and enjoy the city.
Erie Arts & Culture Executive Director Susannah Faulkner said September will be especially busy downtown. “The whole month of September is absolutely jam packed in downtown Erie. Whether it’s the Irish festival, the Labor Day parade, the New American Jamboree, Fiesta on the Square. There is truly something for everybody, we have local events, we have national events so I just encourage everyone from all around the region to get downtown, check out these events calendars and try something new, try something new for you and your family”, said Faulkner.
