A poutine restaurant hopes to find a new home after its upcoming closure in Bethlehem.
The Flying V Poutinerie announced it will close at 5 p.m. Sunday at 201 E. Third St. in Bethlehem, adding that a search is on for a new location.
“When you don’t own the ground beneath your feet or the roof over your heads [it’s] not up to you whether you can rightfully be there long term,” the announcement said. “The physical building belongs to someone else, and this day and age I feel that more people can relate with this than should.”
After operating as a pop-up tent and food truck, the restaurant opened in 2020 at the former Hot Plate Southern Kitchen space.
“I’ve had the honor of serving the community starting in the middle of the shutdown in 2020,” the announcement said. “When the world stopped, we kept going. Six years later we will do the same! The Flying V still is alive for many years to come; slinging spuds and Canadian inspired delicious foods.”
Alongside the poutine (a Canadian dish of fries, cheese curds, and gravy), the restaurant also offers hot dogs and tater tots, its website listed.
