Man dies days after chain-reaction crash involving garbage truck in Turtle Creek
Officials confirm one of three people injured in a chain-reaction crash involving a garbage truck in Allegheny County has died.

Jordan D. Patrick, 30, died on Monday after Thursday’s crash at the 100 block of Monroeville Avenue in Turtle Creek.
Firefighters and emergency responders were called to Monroeville Avenue in Turtle Creek at 12:28 p.m. Thursday for the crash that involved multiple vehicles.
Aerial video from Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, captured a City of Pittsburgh garbage truck on its side, with its contents strewn across the road.

According to Allegheny County police, the garbage truck was heading east on Tri-Boro Expressway when it hit a car that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Grant Street.
Police said the garbage truck continued through the intersection, where it hit a pickup truck, and the garbage truck overturned.
A tire from the pickup truck hit a Turtle Creek police car that was unoccupied, police said.
Patrick was taken to the hospital where he later died. Two other people were also injured. We do not have an update on their injuries.
A woman who was shopping nearby said, “I heard a real bad, big bang, and it sounded like an explosion, so I looked out to see what it was. I just see a big poof of smoke, big cloud of smoke. I mean, really high.”
She also said, “Prayers to families and friends that are all involved in this accident, and I’m so sorry.”
