ERIE, Pa.–The Westminster women’s tennis team opened its season Tuesday with a 5-2 loss at Penn State Behrend.
Freshmen Myleigh Broll (Girard, Ohio, Girard) and Aurelia Hall (Milford, Ohio, Ursuline Academy) claimed individual wins at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Broll defeated Triss Righi 7-5, 6-2 and Hall defeated Elizabeth Anthony 6-3, 6-1. Sophomore Megan Blasko (Mercer, Pa., Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) suffered a three set loss at No. 3 singles, falling 2-6, 6-1, 1-6 to Lexa Maloney, last year’s Newcomer of the Year in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
