Chobani to establish first dairy manufacturing operation in Pennsylvania
LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. —
Chobani will be making its home in Pennsylvania, with officials saying the company will establish its first dairy product manufacturing operation in the state.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said in a release Tuesday that the $1.2 billion investment will create over 900 jobs over the next five years.

“This $1.2 billion investment from Chobani is the largest private sector investment in the history of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and will strengthen our dairy industry, support our farmers, and reinforce our position as a national leader in agriculture and food manufacturing,” Shapiro said in the release. “Pennsylvania is aggressively competing for — and winning — the biggest economic development projects in the country because we’re making strategic investments, moving at the speed of business, and giving companies confidence that they will thrive here — and I’m proud this investment will benefit our dairy industry and rural communities.”
Shapiro said Chobani will purchase 30% of the milk produced in Pennsylvania, supporting local dairy farmers for years to come.
The company will assume operations of Keurig Dr Pepper’s manufacturing facility, equipment, and related infrastructure, where Chobani plans to manufacture innovative food products beyond yogurt.
Officials said the 1.5 million-square-foot facility will be located in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.
