Police respond to Walgreens robbery in North Huntingdon; shots fired in parking lot
NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. —
Shots were fired in the parking lot of a Walgreens pharmacy in Westmoreland County as police responded to a robbery Wednesday morning, officials said.
Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, showed a large police presence outside Walgreens on Magill Drive in North Huntingdon, just off Route 30.

“I saw a bunch of police cars come through, and my boss said, ‘Get down, get everyone inside,'” said Mike Craig, who works at Jiffy Lube next to Walgreens. “I came running over to make sure nobody was out here. I heard an officer say, ‘Get down,’ and I heard three shots — just pow, pow, pow. I didn’t see anything because there was cars blocking it, but I immediately came back.”
The incident happened just after 10 a.m., according to a statement posted on North Huntingdon’s Facebook page.
“Officers responded immediately and encountered the suspect in the parking lot, where shots were fired,” the statement said. “The suspect was taken into custody, and no injuries have been reported at this time. The incident remains under investigation.”
The suspect has not been identified as police continue to investigate.
