Pennsylvania exhibit honors 25th anniversary of 9/11 attacks
HARRISBURG, Pa. —
Next Friday marks 25 years since the September 11 terrorist attacks, and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is unveiling a new exhibit to honor the occasion.
The exhibit, titled “Witness to History: Pennsylvania on September 11th, 2001,” will be displayed at the State Archives in Harrisburg.
Visitors can view a map showing the flight path of Flight 93, a memorial wall, memorial quilts, and important documents and letters that reflect Pennsylvania’s response to the tragedy.
“I think it’s important for them to come out and see the exhibit, so that they can see original documents, original interpretations of what happened on that fateful day, September 11th, 2001,” Richard Saylor of the State Archives said. “It’s become clear to me only recently how many people who were not alive then who are alive and adults now. So, I think it’s a really good reminder.”
The exhibit is open during the Pennsylvania State Archives’ regular operating hours, which are Wednesday through Friday and the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
