Suspect in burglary of Saquon Barkley’s house arrested: Officials – NBC10 Philadelphia

A man involved in the attempted break-in of Saquon Barkley’s home has been taken into custody, a source told NBC10.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Jabir Parker, of Philadelphia, officials said.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Parker is facing charges for two home break-ins and the attempted break-in of a third home that occurred in both Montgomery and Chester counties.

The first break-in occurred at a home in Bryn Mawr on June 22, 2026, the D.A. said. The crime was reported to police the next day and 12 pieces of jewelry worth an estimated $106,700 were taken.

The second break-in occurred at a home in Wynnewood on July 5, the D.A. said. Parker is believed to have gotten away with 28 pieces of jewelry worth more than $687,000.

The attempted break-in occurred on July 18 at a home in Malvern, the D.A. said. Although the D.A. did not say who was the victim of the attempted break-in, it did occur on the same day and in the same area as where Barkley’s home was targeted while he and his family were inside. A source involved in the investigation confirmed to NBC10’s Brian Sheehan that Parker was behind the attempted break-in of Barkley’s home.

“In the third burglary, the Malvern homeowners were awakened by suspicious sounds before finding an unknown male inside the home and calling 911,” the D.A. said.

Barkley told NBC10’s John Clark that no one inside the home was hurt during the incident and that he was taking up extra security precautions.

The D.A.’s office said that Parker was taken into custody on Sept. 1 by Lower Merion Township Police, along with the help of FBI SWAT, Pennsylvania State Police, the Philadelphia Police Department and the Pennsylvania Attorney’s General Office.

Officials said they were able to track Parker down through a number of pieces of evidence, including his cell phone and car.

Detectives were able to use “geo-fencing” to identify Parker’s cell phone at the location of all three incidents at the time that they occurred, officials said. Investigators were also able to find a recording of Parker’s voice from a nanny cam in the second burglary, and that Parker was communicating with a getaway driver for all three incidents.

An arrest of a getaway driver or an identity of a suspect have not been announced, but investigators said they are still looking for them.

Investigators were also able to track down the white GMC Yukon Denali believed to have been used in Barkley’s break-in to a SIXT Rent A Car in Philadelphia, officials said. The car was rented by Parker on July 16 and returned about an hour and half after the attempted break-in at Barkley’s house was reported.

Parker is facing multiple felonies, including burglary and conspiracy to burglary, and he remains in custody with $1 million bail, officials said. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 10.
