A missing elderly man from McKean was located safely Thursday morning after Millcreek Police received an alert through the Flock Safety System that led officers directly to his vehicle.
According to the Millcreek Police Department, officers received a missing persons alert at approximately 7:43 a.m. on September 3 through the Flock Safety System.
The alert identified a license plate connected to a missing person report that had been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by a law enforcement agency outside the Erie area.
Patrol officers responded quickly to the location identified by the alert and located the vehicle in a nearby parking lot. Upon making contact with the occupant, officers discovered an elderly man in his 80s from McKean who was experiencing a medical condition and in need of assistance.
The Millcreek Township Fire Department responded to the scene, and medics provided care before transporting the man to a local hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Officers also contacted the man’s family to inform them that he had been found and was receiving medical attention.
Authorities said the successful outcome highlights the value of modern technology and strong coordination between emergency responders. A rapid response from Millcreek Police officers, Fire Department medics, and the Flock Safety System played a critical role in locating the missing man and ensuring he received the care he needed.
