Federal Hill Smokehouse is providing meals after hours to feed the community.
On Thursday, Nov. 6 Federal Hill Smokehouse’s workers fired up the kitchen to help those in need.
After the noon rush, employees cooked up more than 50 pounds of goulash, served with green beans and cottage cheese, all free for anyone struggling while waiting on SNAP benefits.
According to Ryan Atzert, co-owner of Federal Hill Smokehouse they’re trying to do whatever they can. He believes that if everyone pulls their weight then the entire community will be better off.
Meals started going out at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until the food runs out.
On Friday, Nov. 7, the team will be back at it. After hours they will be serving meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and applesauce to keep the community fed and cared for.
