PENN TWP., Pa. – The swim area at Blue Marsh Lake is currently closed due to high bacteria levels, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia announced.
Officials say high E. coli levels that are above safe recreational standards have been detected in the water, making it dangerous for swimmers.
This closure only affects the designated swim beach within the Dry Brooks Day Use Area.
The picnic area and boat launches remain open for recreation, park officials say.
Daily testing will occur to monitor bacteria levels, and once levels have returned to safe standards, the swim beach will be reopened, says a news release.
