CHERRY RIDGE TOWNSHIP, WAYNE CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have released more information after a driver allegedly crashed into the PSP Honesdale Station in Wayne County, injuring an officer.

Troopers say a pickup truck drove into the barracks, located at 14 Collan Park in Cherry Ridge Township, around 6:53 p.m. on Wednesday.

The collision caused damage to the station’s entrance and communications room, disrupting telephone service. A communications officer working in the room sustained minor injuries, according to authorities.

The operator, later identified as 36-year-old Wade Louis Rickard of Honesdale, reportedly fled on foot but was located a short time later along Ski Run Road. He was taken into custody by PSP and the Honesdale Borough Police Department.

Rickard faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, reckless endangerment and simple assault. He was taken to the Wayne Memorial Hospital before being transported to the Wayne County Prison for arraignment.
