The swim area at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area at Blue Marsh Lake is closed because of high levels of bacteria, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District announced Friday.
Levels of E. coli that are above safe recreational standards have been detected in the swimming area, the corps said. The closure only affects the designated swim beach at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area.
The picnic area and boat launches remain open for recreation.
Daily testing will occur to monitor bacteria levels and the beach will be reopened when levels have returned to safe standards, the corps said.
