HONESDALE, Pa. (WBNG) — A pickup truck crashed into the entrance of the Pennsylvania State Police Honesdale Station on Thursday evening, causing significant structural damage and disrupting telephone services.
The collision, which occurred around 6:53 p.m. on Sept. 3, damaged the communications room and caused minor injuries to a police communications officer working inside, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The driver fled the scene on foot but was caught shortly after by state police and Honesdale Borough officers along Ski Run Road.
Wade Louis Rickard, 36, of Honesdale, was taken into custody and treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital before being transported to the Wayne County Prison.
Rickard faces multiple charges in connection with the incident, including aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
