National Diaper Need Awareness Week, organized by the National Diaper Bank Network, runs from Sept. 14-20, and St. Joseph’s Center Baby & Children’s Pantry is participating with a Diaper Need Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Special guest volunteers will join St. Joseph’s Center staff and Baby & Children’s Pantry volunteers to “fill the van” with diapers to support the community members who come to the pantry. The pantry served 3,406 families and distributed 116,190 diapers to families in need in 2025. Diaper Need Awareness Week brings attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S., where half of families struggle with diaper need. To help the pantry fill the van, bring donations to 320 S. Blakely St. in Dunmore on Sept. 16, and check social media pages to see who the special guest volunteers will be that day.
