Ridley quarterback Joey Carroll completed 7 of 9 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, while the Green Raiders produced 331 yards on the ground in a 63-0 Central League trouncing of Lower Merion on Thursday.
The Green Raiders (2-0, 1-0) have outscored their opponents, 91-7, through two games.
Gene D’Amico made a big impact at wide receiver and linebacker, catching three passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Tim Calamita was 9-for-9 on extra points and recorded four touchbacks.
Elsewhere in the Central League:
Springfield 21, Marple Newtown 3: John Hopkins connected with TJ Valletti for a 58-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to put the Cougars (2-0, 1-0) ahead, 7-3. Hopkins and Valletti each added a rushing touchdown.
Jonah Abraham kicked a 34-yard field goal to give the Tigers (0-2, 0-1) a 3-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
Also in the Central League, Upper Darby beat Conestoga, 28-13. The Royals are 2-0.
In nonleague results:
Chester 40, George Washington 7: Freshman running back Sa’Mhad Williams scored four touchdowns as the Clippers (2-0) dominated their Philadelphia Public League opponent.
Chester’s defense racked up five interceptions and seven sacks.
In other nonleague results, Archbishop Carroll pummeled Bristol, 54-17. The Patriots are 2-0.
Chichester earned its second straight win with a 13-0 decision over Audenried. Penn Wood fell on the road against Maret (D.C.), 14-8, while Episcopal Academy suffered a 30-17 setback to Lawrenceville (N.J.).
