Police in Bucks County say that eight children from Philadelphia were arrested and charged after breaking into a Starbucks store.
According to the Bensalem Police Department, officers were called to the Starbucks on the 3600 block of Horizon Boulevard around 3:19 a.m. for reports of a burglary in progress.
When the officers got the store, they reported finding that the drive-through window had been smashed and cash registers were damaged.
Three boys were found carrying Starbucks merchandise that had been stolen nearby in the parking lot for the Walmart, police said.
Then, with help from the Upper Southampton Police Department, officers were able to find five more boys who were seen running away from the shopping center, officials explained.
Through the investigation, officials said that all eight of the kids were part of the robbery at the Starbucks.
They are also included of breaking into cars in one of the neighborhoods near the shopping center, police reported.
Officers also said that the children are believed to be connected to thefts that happened in and near the Neshaminy Square Shopping Center as well as surrounding homes.
All eight of the children are set to be charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, prowling at night and other related offenses.
The investigation into the activities of the children is ongoing.
The Bensalem Police Department is asking business owners to share any surveillance video that could help them with their investigation.
