1 dead after overnight Fort Pitt Tunnel crash
State police say the crash inside the tunnel happened after midnight; one person has died
PITTSBURGH —
Pennsylvania State Police say one person is dead after a crash inside the Fort Pitt Tunnel.
The crash happened around midnight in the eastbound lanes. The tunnel was closed for three hours. State police say an early investigation determined a car was traveling at a high speed when it crashed into the rear end of a commercial vehicle.
We are still working to learn the identity of the person killed and whether there were any other injuries.
