Upper Darby Township fire crews were dispatched Monday shortly after 6:20 p.m. for a house fire in the first block of College Avenue.
Upon arrival, the report was for smoke showing from the roof line in a middle-of-the-row residence.
According to further fire radio traffic:
Flames on the porch had extended into the roof.
Crews were making good progress at the 20-minute mark, later finding no extension to exposures, and the incident was placed under control at the 30-minute mark.
One member transported to a hospital. It was unclear what the medical evaluation was for.
