The Western Berks Water Authority is getting a $1.6 million grant and big loan to upgrade its treatment plant.
The money will fund a number of improvements — including the construction of four dual-media gravity filters, a service pump station with upgraded pumps, chemical rooms, and electrical updates.
In all, projects in 23 counties are splitting more than 547 million dollars to improve water infrastructure in the state.
