PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Lottery is launching a new football-themed draw game just in time for the NFL season.
Powerball Xs & Os™ goes on sale Sept. 8 and features a progressive jackpot starting at $1 million.
The $5 game allows players to select eight NFL team logos from a field of 32 teams for a chance to win cash prizes and other rewards.
The first drawing will be held Sept. 13 at 10 p.m. ET. Players who match all eight team logos win the jackpot, while lower-tier prizes range from $7 to $20,000.
The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 12.16, according to the lottery.
In addition to cash prizes, players can enter both winning and non-winning tickets online for chances to win NFL-themed experiences, gift cards and a trip to the Super Bowl.
Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko said the new game offers football fans an exciting way to play while also supporting programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians.
Lottery officials noted that Powerball Xs & Os results are determined by random drawings and are not connected to the outcomes of NFL games.

Since 1972, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $37.2 billion to programs and services for older residents across the commonwealth.
Players must be 18 or older to participate.
