ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A 33-year-old Allentown man has died after being injured in an electric scooter accident late last month.
Cory R. Smith was pronounced dead Sunday at a local hospital, Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio said in a news release.
Buglio said the cause of death is complications of blunt force injuries to the head, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
Smith was operating an electric scooter when he lost control and hit his head on the roadway on Aug. 28 in the area of North 16th Street and West Liberty Street, according to Buglio.
Buglio said Smith was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and the Allentown Police Department are investigating.
