Several teams across the state did not enjoy their first taste of September football this past week.

Five teams ranked last week in the Trib HSSN state Top 5 lost with three teams falling completely out of the rankings.

Gone are 2025 Class 6A champ LaSalle College, McKeesport and Steelton-Highspire, while Imhotep Charter and Bishop Gulfoyle Academy lost but maintained their spot among the elite five in their classification.

Also surviving were Clairton and Belmont Charter School, two Class A teams that had to forfeit their Week 2 contests.

Despite the loss by Bishop Guilfoyle Academy, there were no changes at No. 1 with Central Catholic in 6A, Pine-Richland in 5A, Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast in 4A, Northwestern Lehigh in 3A, Southern Columbia in 2A and the Marauders in A still at No. 1.

There are three head-to-head clashes in Week 3 involving three teams in Class 6A.

Class 6A top-ranked Central Catholic will host Class 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland and the No. 4 and No. 5 teams clash when District 3 Bishop McDevitt hosts District 6 State College.

The other big matchup is in the WPIAL where Class 2A No. 3 Seton LaSalle welcomes Class 3A No. 3 Aliquippa.

Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings in each of the six classifications. Teams are listed with overall record, last week’s ranking and district.

Class 6A

1. Central Catholic (2-0) (2) (D-7): The Vikings defeated Woodland Hills in Week 2, 45-0. They host 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland on Friday.

2. St. Joseph Prep (1-0) (3) (D-12): The Hawks defeated Brentwood Academy (TN) in Week 2, 28-23. They visit Bergen Catholic (NJ) on Saturday.

3. Harrisburg (2-0) (4) (D-3): The Cougars defeated Cedar Cliff in Week 2, 54-14. They visit Cumberland Valley on Friday.

4. Bishop McDevitt (2-0) (5) (D-3): The Crusaders defeated Central Dauphin East in Week 2, 45-0. They host No. 5 State College on Friday.

5. State College (2-0) (NR) (D-6): The Little Lions defeated Chambersburg in Week 2, 38-0. They visit No. 4 Bishop McDevitt on Friday.

1. Pine-Richland (2-0) (1) (D-7): The Rams defeated West Allegheny in Week 2, 59-20. They visit 6A No. 1 Central Catholic on Friday.

2. Springfield-Delco (2-0) (3) (D-1): The Cougars defeated Marple-Newtown in Week 2, 21-3. They visit Lower Merion on Thursday.

3. Imhotep Charter (1-1) (2) (D-12): The Panthers lost to DeMatha Catholic (MD) in Week 2, 21-20. They host Malvern Prep on Saturday.

4. Southern Lehigh (2-0) (4) (D-11): The defending PIAA 4A champion Spartans defeated Blue Mountain in Week 2, 45-36. They visit Jim Thorpe on Friday.

5. Twin Valley (2-0) (5) (D-3): The Raiders defeated Susquehanna Township in Week 2, 17-13. They visit Wyomissing on Saturday.

1. Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast (1-1) (1) (D-12): The Friars defeated Archbishop Ryan in Week 2, 29-0. They host Springside Chestnut Hill Academy on Friday.

2. Shamokin (2-0) (4) (D-4): The Indians defeated Danville in Week 2, 53-14. They host Shikellamy on Friday.

3. Montour (2-0) (NR) (D-7): The Spartans defeated No. 2 McKeesport in Week 2, 28-17. They visit South Fayette on Friday on Trib HSSN.

4. General McLane (2-0) (3) (D-10): The Lancers defeated Fort LeBoeuf in Week 2, 27-26. They host Warren on Friday.

5. West York (2-0) (5) (D-3): The Bulldogs defeated Red Lion in Week 2, 34-12. They visit South Western on Friday.

3. Aliquippa (1-0) (3) (D-7): The Quips defeated Mars in Week 2, 42-27. They visit 2A No. 3 Seton LaSalle on Friday on Trib HSSN.

4. Archbishop Wood (2-0) (4) (D-12): The Vikings defeated Germantown Academy in Week 2, 38-34. They visit LaSalle College on Saturday.

5. Notre Dame-Green Pond (2-0) (5) (D-11): The Crusaders defeated North Schuylkill in Week 2, 38-7. They play Salisbury at Lafayette College on Friday.
