CARBONDALE — A pocketknife was discovered in a bag at the stadium during the Carbondale Area football game on Friday night, Superintendent of Schools Holly Sayre announced in a statement.
Specific details regarding the individual involved were not provided due to student confidentially requirements, per the release.
School administrators and law enforcement promptly addressed the weapons policy violation and took appropriate action, Sayre said.
“The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority,” Sayre said in the release. “We take all reports and incidents of this nature very seriously and respond swiftly to ensure a safe learning environment.”
