HARRISBURG, Pa. – We are less than two months from November’s general election. The secretary of the commonwealth is going to hold weekly election briefings.
Secretary Al Schmidt gave his first briefing today. He talked about how the state is preparing for election day. He stressed each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties is responsible for running elections within their borders.
Schmidt also discussed the continuing litigation over mail-in ballots. “Nothing has changed about Pennsylvania’s mail ballot voting laws. And, voters should have confidence that eligible Pennsylvanians who vote by mail, can still do so, safely and securely,” said Schmidt.
Mail-in ballots are already being sent overseas and to military voters in remote areas.
