A brutal spring is still having a chilling effect on Erie County’s agriculture. After the cherry and peach crops were more or less decimated, apple farmers don’t have much better news.
The crop is lighter this year and the season might be shorter than usual, according to Post Apple Scientific owner Gordon Post in North East, which is still hosting a picking season. “Come early,” he said with a laugh.
