Scattered Showers Tonight; Mild Weekend In South Central Pennsylvania
High temperatures on Saturday & Sunday will reach the 60s before dropping into the 40s early next week.
TO THE BECKER FAMILY. GOOD FRIDAY EVENING. WE’RE STILL WATCHING THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS MOVE THROUGH PARTS OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, BUT THE WINDS ARE GOING TO RELAX AS WE HEAD INTO TONIGHT. AND THEN FOR YOUR SATURDAY, IT’S DRY. TOMORROW’S A GOOD DAY TO GET OUTSIDE AND REALLY DO ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN, BUT THEN SHOWERS DO. RETURN TO THE FORECAST AS WE HEAD INTO YOUR SUNDAY, AND THEN THINGS ARE GOING TO COOL DOWN IN A BIG WAY AS WE HEAD INTO MONDAY AND TUESDAY, TEMPERATURES GO FROM 62 OVER THE WEEKEND DOWN INTO THE 40S AS WE HEAD INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. BUT HERE’S THE RAIN RIGHT NOW. IT’S LIGHT ACROSS THE AREA. GOT SOME STEADY LIGHT RAIN MOVING THROUGH PARTS OF LANCASTER AND LEBANON COUNTY, AS WELL AS YORK AND ADAMS, AND THEN A LITTLE MORE SCATTERED AS YOU HEAD NORTHWEST OF HARRISBURG. THERE IN THE PARTS OF MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA COUNTY, ESPECIALLY. BUT ALL OF THIS IS GOING TO BE MOVING THROUGH OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AND MOVING OUT AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE TWO 3:00 HOUR HERE FOR A PLACE LIKE LANCASTER, FOR EXAMPLE, WHERE YOU’RE A LITTLE BIT MORE IN OUR EASTERN AREAS, IT’S GOING TO BE CLOSER TO THAT 3:00 HOUR FOR YOU BEFORE THE RAIN COMES DOWN. BUT 53 RIGHT NOW IN THE CITY, WITH WINDS OUT OF THE SOUTH, AROUND SEVEN MILES PER HOUR IS 56, IN CAMP HILL, 59 IN SHIPPENSBURG AND 56 IN YORK, 51 IN ELIZABETHTOWN AND 50 RIGHT NOW IN LEBANON, AS WELL AS EPHRATA ALMANAC. TODAY WE GOT UP TO 60 DEGREES, A LITTLE BIT ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. OUR AVERAGE LOW IS 38 DEGREES, AND WE’RE NOT GOING TO EVEN GET CLOSE TO THAT TONIGHT. IN FACT, WE’RE GOING TO BE SEEING OUR TEMPERATURES DROP BACK TO ONLY THE 50S HERE. AND IF THEY ARE RIGHT AROUND 50 DEGREES, YOU MAY GET INTO THE UPPER 40S, BUT OTHERWISE IT IS GOING TO BE A MILD NIGHT AND THOSE SHOWERS WILL BE ENDING HERE AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THAT TWO 3:00 TIME FRAME IN THE MORNING TOMORROW MORNING ITSELF. IF YOU HAVE ANY SATURDAY MORNING PLANS, A FEW CLOUDS, MILD TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE MID 50S HERE, AND THAT’S USUALLY WHERE WE END UP ENDING THE DAY. RIGHT. WE’RE NOT GOING TO STOP THERE. WE’RE GOING UP TO THE 60S IN THE AFTERNOON, 62 TO 66 FOR THAT HIGH. OVERALL, A PLEASANT DAY COMING OUR WAY. HERE’S A LOOK AT THAT RAIN. LIKE I SAID, IT PUSHES THROUGH AND BY 3:00 IT IS OUT OF HERE. THEN WE HAVE A LOT OF SUNSHINE FOR YOUR SATURDAY. CLOUDS WILL TRY TO BUILD BACK IN AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW EVENING. A STRAY SHOWER FOR OUR NORTHERN COUNTIES IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION, ALTHOUGH IT DOES LOOK LIKE MOST OF THAT HOLDS OFF UNTIL IT GETS NEAR I-80 OR A LITTLE BIT FARTHER NORTH. AS WE HEAD INTO SUNDAY, WE DO HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE IN THE MORNING, BUT THEN IT WILL COME WITH SOME CLOUDS. SOME MORE RAIN WILL COME THROUGH DURING SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS, BUT AROUND SUNSET WITH THAT COLD FRONT BEHIND IT NOW BEHIND THE COLD FRONT, THAT’S WHERE THE TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO END UP DROPPING PRETTY QUICKLY. IN FACT, WE GO FROM 60S ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND DOWN TO 46 FOR YOUR MONDAY. SO YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL THAT COLD FRONT COMING THROUGH. IT WON’T BE AS BAD AS WHAT WE HAD THE OTHER NIGHT, WHERE YOU SAW THE STRONG WINDS WITH IT THAT CAUSED SOME TREES TO GO DOWN AND POWER LINES. IT WON’T BE THAT TYPE OF FRONT, BUT YOU WILL NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE THERE WITH THE TEMPERATURES BECAUSE AGAIN, YOU’RE GOING FROM 62 DEGREES DOWN TO 46. SO ALMOST A 15 DEGREE DROP THERE BETWEEN THE TWO DAYS. AND THEN IT WILL MODERATE A LITTLE BIT MORE, BECOME MORE SEASONABLE AS WE HEAD INTO WEDNESDAY AND BEYOND FOR NEXT WEEK THERE AS WELL. BUT THE LAST TIME WE HAD HIGHS IN THE 40S FOR HARRISBURG WAS APRIL 11TH. SO IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE’VE BEEN THIS COOL. HOWEVER, OUR AVERAGE FIRST FULL DAY WITH HIGHS 45 OR LOWER IS ABOUT NOW. THIS TIME OF YEAR, IT’S NOVEMBER 8TH AND WE’RE GOING TO BE RIGHT AROUND THAT AS WE HEAD INTO MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. SO WHEN WE LOOK AT YOUR TEN DAY FORECAST, WE GOT 64 FOR YOUR SATURDAY, 62 WITH THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS ON SUNDAY. ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT’S GOING TO BE A WASHOUT, IT WILL BE BLUSTERY AND COLDER FOR YOUR MONDAY AS WELL AS TUESDAY BEFORE WE SEE THOSE 50S AND BREEZY CONDITION
