Among the speakers Thursday on the second day of the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention in Dallas was U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie from the Lehigh Valley.
The Republican, who represents Pennsylvania’s 7th district, shared some of the things he’s accomplished since getting elected in 2024.
“And when it comes to federal resources for our community, I brought home over $160 million to help our health systems and local manufacturers, and provide much needed resources for our first responders,” he said.
Mackenzie is running against Democratic candidate Bob Brooks this November.
Brooks is speaking out after Mackenzie’s appearance at the midterm convention.
He blamed Mackenzie and Republicans for “skyrocketing prices” on gas, groceries and health care. Brooks went on to say, “I answer to the Lehigh Valley. Ryan Mackenzie answers to Trump.”
WFMZ will host a debate between the two on October 21. It will be taped in front of a live audience and aired at a later date.
