This afternoon, community members held the monthly “You Are Not Alone” immigrant vigil near Perry Square.
They stood in solidarity with immigrants and refugees who say they face uncertainty and fear.
Each month, the vigil is organized by a different grassroots group. Their message is one of support and a hope to keep attention on those who feel vulnerable. This month was organized by “Presque Isle Rise Up”
The vigil lasted about thirty minutes with reflections, prayer, and songs to support those facing the unknown.
The vigil is held every second Friday of each month on the steps of the federal courthouse.
