A teen is recovering in the hospital after being shot four times during a gunfight on Friday, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2026, near the intersection of Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia, police said.
Surveillance video shows a 19-year-old boy limping to the SEPTA platform before he was taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle where he was placed in stable condition, police reported.
Police say he was also one of the shooters.
At the scene several shell casings could be seen on the sidewalk as police blocked off the area.
Just minutes later and about five blocks away at 16th and Clearfield streets, police say a pizza delivery driver was carjacked while making a delivery.
Police say the driver left his Jeep running with his 14-year-old son inside when a man then jumped into the SUV, taking the vehicle and the teenager.
Police say the 14-year-old escaped and officers later recovered the SUV and arrested the alleged carjacker.
Because the incidents happened so close together, police initially believed they could be connected.
But investigators later determined the shooting and carjacking were not related.
No arrests have been made yet and detectives said they do not know the motive behind this shooting.
