A cornhole tournament raising awareness for suicide prevention began early this afternoon in Scranton.
The “Toss to Save Lives Tournament” was held at Divine Mercy Parish along Davis Street.
Competitors were offered complimentary food throughout the day, with proceeds benefiting the parish’s mental health ministry.
“There’s a lot of fun here, a lot of camaraderie going on here. Free food, free ice cream, and just to get everybody together on a Sunday afternoon where they could be home watching football or doing other activities. They came out to support us, so we thank them very, very much,” said Deacon Martin Castaldi of Divine Mercy Parish.
People of all ages were allowed to participate in today’s cornhole tournament with each winning team taking home a $150 prize.
