Dogs and their owners made a splash at Waldameer and Water World on Sunday, all while supporting animals in need.
The Erie Humane Society partnered with the park for its Wags, Waves, and Waldameer event. Local dogs got the chance to swim and play in the wave pool after the water park closed for the season.

The event also included socializing and photo opportunities for families, with proceeds helping support the Erie Humane Society’s work.
“It’s fun to partner with organizations like Waldameer in Erie and build those relationships. And it builds funds for us. It helps us pay for all the dogs’ care and all the animals, the cats. Everyone that’s at the shelter right now,” said Peggy Schneider, executive director of the Erie Humane Society.
Dogs taking part were required to have a current license and rabies vaccination.
