LOWER MERION — Lower Merion firefighters quickly knocked down a bedroom fire before it was able to spread to the rest of a home in Ardmore.
On Friday, Sept. 11, shortly after 9 a.m., Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to a reported house fire at a residence on the 200 block of Linwood Avenue.
First-arriving crews reported smoke showing from a second-story single-family residence. Firefighters quickly localized the flames to a second-floor bedroom, the company said in a news release.

Crews extinguished the flames and brought the incident under control before it could spread further through the home.
Firefighters remained on scene to check the surrounding walls, ceilings, and adjoining areas for any hidden fire or extension before taking up and returning to service.
Crews from other Lower Merion fire companies, including Penn Wynne Overbrook, Gladwyne, Union Fire Association of Bala Cynwyd and Bryn Mawr also responded.
Narberth Ambulance also responded. There were no reported injuries.
