First, let me say that Main Line Health Cardiologist Frank McGeehan has been keeping my husband alive for nearly thirty-six years.
And that is no exaggeration, i.e. through twelve surgeries and innumerable procedures and tests.
Today at Mass, two days after our nation’s 25th anniversary commemorations of the 9/11 attacks, at Saint Margaret Church, under the direction of Father Robert Terranova, O.S.A., we prayed for the recovery of several people.
SJU’s Don DiJulia and Lankenau’s Craig Stretch received heartfelt prayers so God will see them through their current medical challenges and restore them to their families, friends, and colleagues.
It is not a stretch to say that every one of you, our Main Line Media News readers, has benefitted directly or indirectly from cardiac care and its foundational significance.
Today, you are asked to back up that cardiac care beneficence – and gratitude – by supporting the efforts of the Lankenau John B. Deaver Auxiliary of the Women’s Board at their annual fundraiser.
A very generous, year-to-year donor to Lankenau has been Michael J. Morris of Wynnewood, who explains,
“The John B. Deaver Auxiliary hosts a community celebration of physicians, administrators, and neighbors who contribute toward continued improvement in treatment excellence at Lankenau Hospital, and I am pleased to be one of those very appreciative neighbors.”
The John B. Deaver Auxiliary of the Lankenau Medical Center Women’s Board will host its annual fundraiser, “Celebration for a Cause,” on Saturday, September 26, at Llanerch Country Club.
The event is co-chaired by Joan Hindin and Kathleen O’Connor-Eicke.
Year 2026 honorees are Alfred E. Putnam, who has stepped down after 30 years as Chairman of the Lankenau Medical Center Foundation Board, and Maribel Hernandez, Medical Director of the Women’s Heart Initiative.
As noted on the website, “The evening will begin with a festive cocktail party consisting of a silent auction and musical selections by a DJ at 6 p.m., followed by a program, dinner stations, and a birthday dessert tribute to Alfred E. Putnam.
“Lankenau Medical Center is recognized as a top choice hospital for cardiac care, delivering exceptional outcomes through advanced treatment, innovation, and compassionate management.
“As the demand for life-saving cardiac care service continues to grow, so does the need to enhance and expand Lankenau’s cardiac care services.
